As we enter 2024, our Japan team gears towards more record-breaking months for business. Closing the books in 2023 gave us lots to smile about, based on our innovative approach in travelling across the Land of the Rising Sun, maintaining excellent service standards, and on-point quotes and offers for our customers.
While technological advances emerged as crucial factors that may determine success, our team also grew from strength to strength, bridging the gap between travel and technology.
Particularly on product and innovation, Discova Japan made great strides forward. Led by our Global Director of Product, James Munro, we slowly found immersive touring options emerge away from the favourable routes of Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, and expanding further outside the well-travelled Golden Triangle.
Exhilarating new experiences around cities like Tohoku’s Sendai are now leading the way for seeing Japan from new and interesting angles. Part of Honshu Island, known for its dramatic natural landscape and quaint villages with a deep sense of historical preservation, Discova’s product team in Japan has ventured into all its corners for curating enticing new journeys.
Additionally, Kyushu is making its foray as a 2024 product novelty in the country for its hot springs (with Beppu taking the crown), wonderful beaches, and vast natural landscape. Once the main gateway into Japan, it is slowly emerging as a destination to keep an eye on.
The rise of unique culinary experiences, charming and sustainable accommodation choices, and the diversity of Japanese culture will certainly delight first-timer Nippon travellers and repeat visitors alike.
