Discova is happy to announce the appointment of Rayner Kiew as the company’s new Country Manager for Malaysia. With over ten years in the hospitality industry, Rayner has a wealth of experience in business development, hospitality leadership, and strategic growth, making him a fantastic addition to our team.
With our expansion into Sabah and Sarawak in Malaysian Borneo, Discova Regional Manager for Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore Mike Chan says that Rayner has joined the company at an exciting phase of growth at this Southeast Asian destination.
Rayner has joined us with ambitious plans to help put Malaysia on the map as a must-visit destination in Southeast Asia. He is excited to be part of a team that is incredibly passionate about creating travel experiences that make a difference.
He informs, “Discova’s focus on cultural connections, sustainability, and meaningful journeys is something I truly believe in. With over a decade-long experience in the hospitality industry, I’ve invested a lot of time in creating strong partnerships and leading teams to deliver great results. I’m looking forward to bringing that experience to Discova as I believe in collaboration, innovation, and doing things the right way. I can’t wait to work with the team to create journeys that inspire travellers and support local communities.”
A native of Sabah, Rayner is also known by his nickname Ray and describes himself as a total foodie. According to him, sampling local street food is the best way to discover a new culture.
Especially about his hometown of Sabah, he says, “Food isn’t just about taste; it’s about connection, tradition, and storytelling. Sabah is a melting pot of cultures, and this is reflected in every bite, making it an ultimate gastronomic playground.
