Adding any destination to our growing portfolio in Asia involves months of research, preparation, and groundwork. When we realised the exciting and immersive travel opportunities that await us in South Korea, our busy Sales team realigned their calendars at the end of last year to arrange an inspection trip that was equal parts fun, memorable and eye-opening.

Rhydian James (Chief Commercial Officer), Chad Anderson (EMEA Sales Director), Neil David Crawford (Tailormade Sales Manager) and Ivan Bielik (Tailormade Travel Expert) spent a week travelling through the country, exploring its modern cityscapes, ancient palaces, vibrant food markets, tranquil nature and more.

Looking forward to discussing South Korea with our partners at ITB Berlin in March, Rhydian says, “South Korea represents an exciting opportunity for Discova and our partners, building on the success we've seen in Japan and offering a compelling alternative or complementary destination.

Ivan echoes Rhydian’s sentiments and believes this trip gave him a first-hand experience of Korea’s rich history and culture, which would add another layer of authenticity to the itineraries he creates for guests seeking unique experiences in the country.

Regional Product Manager Lena McGarry also feels that South Korea is a natural and exciting evolution of our Northeast Asia portfolio. As a travel destination, it offers so much — from Seoul’s urban energy to Busan’s coastal character and the historic depth of Gyeongju — all within one well-balanced journey.
